Similarly it should be possible for me to create a note on my PC, open Evernote on my iPhone 2 hours later and see it listed, even if it doesn't yet have the note content. i.e., when you open the app it has an up to date list of your inbox, it just doesn't have the contents of those emails. A full background sync is probably too hard but it should be possible to sync your list of notes in the background even if it does not download/sync the note content until you open the app/note.
I'll have more peace of mind with Apple Notes, even without the clipper or task (which I will use Reminders for instead) because of the reliability.Ī force sync is necessary on iPhone (due to Apple's design), While Evernote has all the features I want, if the service is not reliable, those features don't matter. Aside from clipping, which isn't a feature of Apple Notes, the syncing of everything else is lightning quick and I've never had evidence to question it. I'm sorry to say that (because of the cost involved), I may still end up on Apple Notes instead of Evernote. So, I'll re-clip it and then end up with two notes when it eventually syncs. Often, this will make me wonder if I actually clipped the page. If I clip a page in Safari, it can take 15-60 minutes before it syncs to the app. It doesn't help my day if the tool I use makes me question if I really did the thing I thought I did.Īlso, syncing from Web Clipper has suddenly gone downhill. I've timed it and last time it took over an hour to sync a completed task. When completing a task one of those devices in the morning, I'll look at a different device in the evening and the tasks are still there. I only use three devices (iPhone, Mac mini, and iMac), and my notebooks only total around 300 notes. While I love all the features of Evernote (Web Clipper, Tasks, Annotations), it frustratingly does not sync acceptably. The reliability of the service is really hampering my enthusiasm to use it.
